Off-Piste Ski Descents in Cortina d'Ampezzo

The Dolomites seem to have a never-ending supply of lift-accessible off-piste ski descents!

From Cortina d'Ampezzo there are incredible off-piste descents of Cinque Torri, Lagazuoi, Tofana, and Cristallo Massifs, to name a few. Below is a list of some of our favorites that you may enjoy during your trip. We’ve selected these for their incredible skiing and breath-taking scenery. They include, but are in no way limited to: 

Cristallo, Creste Bianche-Pra del Vecio (White Ridges-Old Man’s Field)
Vertical drop: 1,500 meters / 4,920 feet
Facing: North
Technical difficulty: Hard only in the first part (couloir 45° sometimes a rope is needed), but afterwards it is not too hard.

Bus di Tofana (Tofana’s Hole)
Vertical drop: 1,900 meters / 6,232 feet
Facing: South
Technical difficulty: Hard enough (40°). Depends on the weather conditions. You can find the December snow conditions like April or vice-versa.

Faloria, Cortina "Sci 18"
Vertical drop: 800 meters / 2,630 feet
Facing: West
Technical difficulty: hard. A great downhill with grand panoramic views of Cortina d’Ampezzo.

Cristallo, Costabella
Vertical drop: 1,300 meters / 4,265 feet
Facing: North
Technical difficulty: very hard and complicated. Steep, with difficult passages.

Cristallo, Staunies Nord
Vertical drop: 1,500 meters / 4,950 feet
Facing: North
Technical difficulty: impressive!!!

Tofane, Canale Cacciatori (Hunter's Couloir)
Vertical drop:. 500 meters / 1,650 feet
Facing:  Southeast
Technical difficulty: very hard. Up to 45° with a narrow couloir.

Tofane, Canale del Prete (Priest’s Couloir)
Vertical drop: 350 meters / 1,150 feet
Facing: East
Technical difficulty: very hard. Visible from the Ra Valles cable-car. Up to 50° couloir.

Tofane, Canale Pomedes (Pomedes Couloir)
Vertical drop: 500 meters / 1,650 feet
Facing: Southeast
Technical difficulty: Up to 45° in a narrow couloir. Very hard.

Tofane, Ra Ola
Vertical drop: 1,500 meters / 4,950 feet
Facing: East and north
Technical difficulty: Not so hard. Be careful when crossing at the foot of the Third Tofana.

Tofana di Mezzo (Second Tofana)
Vertical drop: 1,500 meters / 4,950 feet
Facing: Southwest
Technical difficulty: Very hard with a complicated itinerary.

Tofana Terza (Third Tofana)
Vertical drop: 1,800 meters / 6,000 feet
Facing: North
Technical difficulty: Very, very hard. Probably one of the best downhills in the world!
