Corvara, Colfosco, La Villa, San Cassiano, Badia, and La Val are among the most renowned villages of Alta Badia, a valley celebrated as the cradle of Dolomites winter tourism.
Nestled between 1,400 and 2,700 meters (4,593–8,858') above sea level, Alta Badia offers not only optimal ski conditions throughout the winter but also breathtaking views of the Dolomites' most striking peaks. With 53 modern ski lifts, 130 km (81 miles) of wide, impeccably groomed slopes, and the spaciousness of the ski area, you can enjoy long, relaxing days on the snow in complete safety.
Skiing here is also a culinary experience. Stop at one of the many rifugios along the slopes to sample traditional Ladin specialties. From canederli—flavorful bread dumplings with spinach or speck, a regional cured ham—to turtres, crispy deep-fried pockets filled with spinach, cheese, or other delicious fillings, local cuisine is both hearty and distinctive. You might even find seafood specialties, including lobster! Thanks to a unique blend of Ladin, Tyrolean, and Mediterranean influences, Alta Badia boasts an incredibly diverse and refined gastronomic scene.
 

Today is a long day on the slopes, so we recommend setting out early in the morning. Start by skiing to the town of Arabba, where you’ll take the Porta Vescovo cable car. From here, continue on the slopes and lifts to Malga Ciapela. At Malga Ciapela, you’ll board the first of three cable cars leading up to the Marmolada Glacier. Known as the “Queen of the Dolomites,” Marmolada (3,350m / 10,990') is the highest peak and the only glacier in these mountains.
Once at the top, you’ll be treated to panoramic 360-degree views, including Catinaccio, Sassolungo, Sella, and Gran Vernel. The highest point of the ski area is Punta Rocca Station (3,265m / 10,712'), the starting point of one of the most beautiful ski runs in the Alps.
This long, wide, and consistent piste is La Bellunese, the longest in the Dolomites, stretching 12 kilometres (7.15 miles) with a vertical descent of 1,823 meters (5,981'). The run’s few corners and gradual gradients let you settle into a rhythm as you carve turns all the way down the mountain.
 

This incredible tour loops around the Sella Massif and is widely regarded as one of the most spectacular ski tours in the world. Often referred to as a "merry-go-round" for intermediate skiers, this unique circular route of lifts and slopes connects four Dolomite passes, four Ladin valleys (Val Gardena, Alta Badia, Val di Fassa, and Arabba), and three districts. You’ll have the chance to see more of the Dolomites in a single day than most visitors experience in an entire trip! Today, you’ll ski counter-clockwise through Alta Badia and into Val Gardena, enjoying breathtaking views of the Sella Massif, the Cir Mountains, Puez-Odle Nature Park, and the Sassolungo massif, the iconic landmark of Val Gardena.

Today, you'll explore the Alpe di Siusi / Seiser Alm ski area. As the highest Alpine plateau in Europe, it offers wide, gentle slopes that make it a paradise for beginners and families with children. The open expanse provides a front-row seat to the breathtaking panorama of the Dolomite peaks.
Beyond its well-groomed 60 km (37 miles) of slopes, Alpe di Siusi is more than just a skiing destination—it’s a place where winter unveils the most beautiful aspects of the mountains and the valley below. While its terrain is perfect for relaxed skiing, thrill-seekers will also find plenty of opportunities for adventure, both on and off the slopes.

After breakfast, ski the slopes of Seceda and Monte Pana—the "sunny side" of Val Gardena—where you'll be treated to spectacular views of the Sella Massif. From here, continue toward Passo Sella and Val di Fassa, one of the most renowned and comprehensive ski areas in the Dolomites.
Val di Fassa boasts seven interconnected ski areas, with 210 km (130 miles) of impeccably groomed slopes, all serviced by 81 modern lifts. In addition to both on- and off-piste skiing, the area offers five ski tours and eight snow parks to explore. Ski down from Passo Sella, enjoying the pistes of the Canazei resort, or venture further into the valley to discover even more terrain.
