15 Years of Experience
Fifteen years ago, Agustina Lagos Marmol had a vision: to introduce travelers to Italy’s Dolomite Mountains. A passionate outdoorswoman, she discovered this incredible mountain landscape as a guide more than 20 years ago. There were no other tour operators based here, no one with first-hand knowledge of the landscape and the community. She quickly saw the uniqueness of this extraordinary mountain landscape – not only for the active opportunities it presented, but also for its wealth of cultural treasures: the people, the cuisine, and the craftsmen. She never looked back. UNESCO identified this as well, and the Dolomites became a World Heritage Site the same year Agustina founded her company.
Through Dolomite Mountains, Agustina has created opportunities for travelers to experience the real Dolomites. While trips often focus on the activity – hiking, biking, climbing, skiing – they always include the history and heritage of the area. Itineraries not only highlight the three distinct cultures in the region – Italian, Austrian, and Ladin – but encourage travelers to explore their similarities and differences as they travel through the different mountain valleys. Reflecting the multicultural nature of the area, guides and staff hail from the region, and are multilingual. Accommodations and restaurants are family-run, architecture and décor have centuries of history, and cuisine is often from recipes that have been passed down for generations, with locally grown ingredients. This is the real Dolomites.
Today, Dolomite Mountains remains one of the only local tour operators in the Dolomites. We have grown in size, and expanded our active offerings into luxury and leisure trips. We have pushed beyond the mountains, and now offer trips in the surrounding wine regiones, South Tyrol, Lake Garda and Sardinia. And, we continue to offer the best active, mountain experiences available in the Dolomites. Join us for an adventure that, simply stated, is Beyond Extraordinary.
