Hiking the Dolomiti di Brenta and Lake Garda Trails

Arrive in Madonna di Campiglio at your leisure and check in to your hotel (private transfer available on request).Situated at 1,550 meters (5,085 feet), Madonna di Campiglio is an elegant alpine town nestled in a spectacular valley, surrounded on three sides by the Adamello Brenta Natural Park.
Tourism here began to flourish in the late 19th century, after a visit from Austrian Empress Sissi and Emperor Franz Josef. Following their stay, the town quickly rose to prominence and remains one of the most visited destinations in the Alps, both in summer and winter. Thanks to the construction of a bypass tunnel in 2000, the town centre is now virtually car-free.
Unlike much of the Dolomites, which bear strong Austro-Hungarian and native Ladin influences, Madonna di Campiglio feels distinctly Italian.
Depending on your arrival time, you may have the chance to take a short hike or simply enjoy exploring the town.

Today’s hike leads you along the base of the majestic Brenta Dolomites, from the rugged highlands to the sparkling waters of the Vallesinella High Falls.The trail winds through a dramatic landscape scattered with Dolomitic boulders, shaped by erosion from the towering peaks above. As you approach Rifugio Tuckett (2,272 m / 7,452'), perched on a striking karst terrace, the scenery becomes truly breathtaking, with Massari Peak (2,846 m / 9,333') and Cima Brenta (3,114 m / 10,213') rising dramatically in the background.
The final stretch brings you to the Cascate Alte (High Falls) of Vallesinella, where the crystal-clear waters of the Sarca di Vallesinella stream surge from the rock like a natural fountain. Often considered the most stunning waterfalls in Trentino, they offer a spectacular and refreshing end to your hike.

The Giro dei Cinque Laghi – or Tour of the Five Lakes – is a stunning loop that leads you past five glacial lakes nestled in the granite heart of the Adamello-Presanella Alps. These shimmering lakes, framed by rugged granite boulders and towering peaks, offer a striking contrast to the dolomite and limestone landscapes that define much of your journey. Unlike granite, dolomite and its magnesium-rich cousin, limestone, are porous and tend to absorb water—making lakes a rare sight in dolomitic terrain.

In the morning, take a private transfer to Riva del Garda.In the afternoon, if you're up for it, we suggest a relaxed but unforgettable walk along the Ponale Trail. This is one of the most famous and beloved trails in the area—an easy route with incredible views as it winds high above the lake. It’s a real classic and a must if you're visiting Riva.
You can spot the old Ponale Road carved into the mountainside from the beaches in Riva and nearby Torbole. As you walk, you'll enjoy amazing views over Lake Garda and come across old military outposts built into the rock. Around the second and third tunnels, you’ll see remains of the Tagliata del Ponale—a defensive system built by Austro-Hungarian soldiers in the 1800s. These fortifications, with tunnels and trenches stretching from the lake up into the cliffs, are usually closed for safety, but they still add a special touch of history to the trail.

Today’s moderate hike takes you to Punta Larici (907m / 2976'), a dramatic ragged peak and an extraordinary lookout point located on a prominent position on the east side of the lake, above Lake Garda. The views from Punta Larici sweep eastwards across the lake toward the town of Malcesine and the Monte Baldo mountain range and southwards toward the towns of Sirmione, Salo', and Garda.

Today, you’ll explore two hidden gems tucked away northwest of Riva del Garda. Lake Tenno, with its perfectly round shape and crystal-clear turquoise waters, offers a striking contrast to Lake Garda. Accessible only on foot and untouched by development along its shoreline, it feels like a serene step back in time.
Nearby lies the medieval hamlet of Canale di Tenno—one of Italy’s best-preserved historic villages and officially listed among the country’s most beautiful.
From Canale, a steep uphill trail leads to a mountain rifugio with a panoramic terrace—an ideal spot to pause for a refreshing drink. You’ll then descend to a typical agriturismo restaurant for lunch (not included). After your meal, continue the gentle descent to the town of Tenno, where a private transfer will take you back to your hotel.
