Hiking Around South Tyrol – Merano Discovery

Experience the valleys of Val Venosta, Val Passiria, Val Senales, and Val Sarentino in the authentic South Tyrol region

Trip Overview

Immerse yourself in Alto Adige – the South Tyrol region of the Dolomites, the Italian Alps. This area of Northern Italy offers an enchanting combination of German traditions and Italian flair, with a history that is as fascinating as the peaks found here are beautiful. From the Roman Empire, a seat as a Catholic Bishopric, Austro-Hungarian Rule, and Italian Annexation, it is perhaps one of the most fascinating and layered histories in Europe. What's more, this is a living history, played out daily, with the resultant confluence of Italian, German, and Ladin cultures, languages, and cuisines found throughout the region.

We look forward to sharing this fantastic itinerary with you! It will take you across some of the most spectacular hiking trails in South Tyrol.
You'll begin with a beautiful bike ride through Val Venosta, with its idyllic Alpine towns and green pastures. You'll experience the region surrounding Merano as you hike amid vast open plains, towering peaks, deep valleys, and everything in between.
