Riva del Garda is a popular destination on Lake Garda and located in the most dramatic part of the Lake, the northern side, with mountain rising on either side or vertical cliffs. After Desenzano, Riva is the second largest town on the shores of the lake but it has a very different atmosphere, lively and outdoorsy. A pleasant base where tourists can stroll along winding streets and relax in waterfront squares.
Riva is still one of the most popular resorts on Lake Garda along with its neighboring towns of Torbole to the east and Arco to the north, especially loved by windsurfers, kitesurfers and rock climbers. Riva boasts superb scenery, elegant parks and a long lakeside promenade, the perfect starting point to explore Lake Garda.

Before departing this morning, your guide will give you a lesson on via ferrata climbing technique, equipment use, and safety.
There are many via ferratas and climbing options to choose from in the Lake Garda / Arco di Trento area. Your guide will select the most suitable Via Ferrata, based on the weather forecast and fitness levels, abilities, and interests of each participant.

Today’s moderate to challenging hike takes you on a fascinating journey across nature and history, for it combines hiking and WW1 history, along with breath-taking and unforgettable views of Lake Garda to the south and Lake Ledro to the north.
Not only this ridge path runs along the WW1 Italian front line that faced the Austrian line, almost directly opposite at Cima Capi, but it also offers no shortage of breath-taking 360 degree views!
The highlight of this rewarding hike is undoubtedly Punta Larici, a dramatic ragged peak and an extraordinary lookout point, located on a prominent position above Lake Garda. The views from Punta Larici sweep eastwards across the lake toward the town of Malcesine and the Monte Baldo mountain range, and southwards toward the towns of Sirmione, Salo' and Garda.
The route consists in numerous sections of exposed path, at times unprotected, yet the favorable exposure to sunlight makes it the perfect excursion throughout the summer months and into fall.
(~6-7 hours hiking, 11 km / 6,6 miles, 1050m/3,445’ ascent and descent).
Option to complete an easier loop, avoiding the challenging ridge section.

In the evening, at 6 pm, take a private transfer to a balsamic vinegar producer, enjoy a guided tour and a tasting of balsamic vinegar & olive oil, followed by dinner at the venue's restaurant.

Transfer 20 minutes from Arco to Mori (200m / 656'), east of the lake. The legendary Via Ferrata Monte Albano is a challenging route that is not for those with a fear of heights! Perhaps one of the most technical via ferrata in the region – and one of the more popular – you’ll encounter overhanging ledges, exposed stretches, a chimney, and slippery areas where the rock is polished.  With the help of iron brackets, the slippery parts can be managed simply, and more people can enjoy the ferrata. After several years of closure for renovation, the route reopened in 2014. Although the character of the route has changed some after the work, it is and remains a classic iron path that no ferrata fan should miss!

Today, you will discover two precious hidden gems nestled northwest of Riva del Garda. Lake Tenno, with its perfectly round shape and clear turquoise water, offers a dramatic contrast to Lake Garda: it is reachable only on foot, with no buildings on the shoreline. Nearby is the picturesque medieval hamlet of Canale di Tenno, known both as one of the best-preserved medieval towns in Italy and one of Italy’s most beautiful villages. Departing Canale, a steep ascent leads you to a local rifugio with its spectacular panoramic terrace, where you may wish to stop for a refreshing drink. Descend for lunch at a typical agriturismo restaurant (not included). After lunch, continue your descent to the nearby town of Tenno and take a private transfer back to your hotel.

In the evening, take a private transfer to a local wine & olive oil producer and enjoy an informative wine tasting, followed by a tour of the oil mill and wine cellar. Complete the experience with a delicious 3-course dinner. Return to your hotel by private transfer.
