Magical Winter Hiking & Snowshoeing in Val Gardena & Cortina with Hot Tub Experience

Arrive in Val Gardena / Gröden (1,563m / 5,128') on your own and check into your hotel (private transfer available on request). Set among the mountains of Sassolungo, Puez, and the Sella Massif, Val Gardena is best known for skiing and rock climbing, as well as for its rich woodcarving tradition, which dates back to the early 17th century.
The trails we have selected for the daily activities included in this itinerary are carefully groomed each night with snowcats so snowshoes are optional. We strongly recommend hikers be equipped with their own snow crampons and poles. These activities are not advisable after heavy snowfalls.

In the morning, a private transfer will drive you to the town of Siusi and, from there, the cable car (tickets included) will take you up to the highest high-altitude Alpine plain in Europe: Alpe di Siusi/Seiser Alm. The wide, generous, and gentle trails designed along the area, are an authentic wonderland for beginners and families with children. The open expanse is like a front-row seat facing the snowy paradise of the Dolomite Peaks!

In the morning, your private transfer will take you to Cortina d’Ampezzo (1,224m / 4,016', about 1 hour drive) where you will immediately check into your hotel. Cortina d'Ampezzo is a charming alpine resort town surrounded by stunning peaks, which offer a unique shelter from the cold winds of the North, and a pleasantly mild climate all year-round. In the afternoon, you’ll enjoy a short hike in the woods and an aperitif in a hot tube, while admiring the incredible beauty of the surrounding mountains. An unmissable and unforgettable adventure!

In the morning a private transfer will drive you to Misurina Lake. You will start your ascent by cable car (tickets included) and then you’ll have the opportunity to choose between two different paths, both easy and rewarding, and both reaching wonderful lunch spots.

After breakfast, a private transfer will take you to the starting point of your hike, in the Cinque Torri area. During World War I, the Cinque Torri were the theatre of severe fighting between the Italian Mountain Troops (Alpini) and the Austrian Alpine Troops (Kaiserjäger). The area is full of relics of Italian army shelters that have been restored to create the Great War open air museum, which offers insights into the war and battles through interpretive panels. Here you will have the opportunity (depending on snow conditions) to walk through old trenches and visit military instalments.
