Three Dolomite Valleys Hiking Traverse

Hike across three picturesque valleys of Val Gardena, Alta Badia, and the Sesto Dolomites. Witness the majestic Sella Massif towering over you, explore the untamed wilderness of Puez Odle Nature Park, and marvel at the breathtaking beauty of Fanes/Sennes/Braies Nature Park. This adventure showcases the beauty of the Dolomites in all of their grandeur.

Trip Overview

On our Three Dolomite Valleys Hiking Traverse, you'll see the best of Val Gardena, Alta Badia, and the Sesto Dolomites. This stunning mountain Valhalla, including the majestic Sella Massif, the Puez Odle Nature Park, and the Fanes/Sennes/Braies Nature Park, are some of the most well-known landmarks in the Dolomites. On the trail, you'll only need to carry a light daypack with the daily essentials (camera, water bottle, and jacket). But the best part? You can do as much (or as little) hiking as you please! We'll provide details of varied, moderate hikes with strenuous options, but you get to customize your own experience as you go!
Each day, you'll hike up to ridges and passes for spellbinding views of huge peaks and pinnacles, seemingly architecturally inspired, and then descend to lush green valleys where wildflowers bloom in pastoral meadows, and storybook villages hug the valley floor. At day's end, you'll relax for six nights in hotels that are deluxe oases of comfort and one night in an authentic, cozy mountain hut where you'll absorb the region's fascinating culture and cuisine – a unique blend of Italy and South Tyrol.
Tinted in weathered shades of rose, yellow, and gray, the fairytale spires and dramatic rock walls of the Dolomites rise in elegantly chiseled shapes of fantastic form, looking every inch like a landscape devised by the gods. And if this isn't exactly heaven, well, it's about as close as you can get. Need more convincing? Get started here. Our team will help you every step of the way!

Want to learn more about our Mountain Inns & Rifugi?
Rifugi – or mountain huts in English – are the classic accommodation for hikers, climbers, mountaineers, and ski mountaineers in the Alps. Set in spectacular locations high in the Dolomites, rifugi are accessible only on foot (with a few exceptions that are reachable by car). These marvelous establishments are open primarily in the summer, with a select few in winter, and offer meals and sleeping facilities.

The Dolomite rifugi are considered the best in the Alps. While some are dormitory style with bunk beds, many meet the standard of a simple guest house with private rooms and en-suite bathrooms, and each has its own unique character and charm. Bedding and linens are provided, hot showers are available, and meals are served in common dining areas – like a small mountain inn set high in the mountains with the most incredible vistas in the Dolomites. Whether you’re hiking in summer or skiing in winter, an overnight rifugio stay is not to miss on a Dolomite holiday.
