Gourmet Ski Safari in the Dolomites Group Departure
The trip was really great , and we will get back to this part of the world next year , maybe for a month or even longer. The hotel in San Cassiano was very good. The location is outside of the village and very calm. You walk about 200 feet over the road and ski rental and lifts to the whole ski area is right there. The food was outstanding, service was extremely friendly, and all the facilities are of high quality . The only personal challenge for us during the whole trip was, that in all hotels / lodges dinner service starts at 7:30 pm, and for our personal lifestyle we don’t like to eat late and go to sleep. The skiing tour was just incredible, and no words can explain the visual sensation. The weather had from snowing and no visibility to just blue sky. The guide was very good, however with three couples on the trip, everybody wants to do something different and daring, and he had a hard time to manage different abilities. We learned that in this stage of our life, we might as well book a private tour, because I feel bad for all those people, who are waiting for me, because I want to take a picture or just intake nature. All those Refugio’s had been incredible, and the food was outstanding. Some vegetarian’s might have limited choices , however the quality of fruits and nuts in the local super market are a dream. The Refugio in Cortina was over the top. From the outside this place looks like an old roadhouse, but once you are in the place it is warm and has the state of technology. Anything from energy saving, safety, quality of finishes and elegant design in this winter wonderland . The couple who owns this place was treating us, like you are in a private home. # 1 in Hospitality “ Make everyone feel Special “. To bring this to closure there was no average or bad food or non existing service. The last two days on our own ,we just kept skiing on and on from new mountain tops to other valleys. This area is perfect for the more mature age group of skieres with its long blue and red runs, and if you want to have more challenges, there are some great black runs, however they are shorter.
