Via Ferrata Experience in the Dolomites
Sarah, Marcello, Dolomite Mountains team
We are finally back in SF decompressing from our trip. Thank you both SO much for the wonderful time. Below are some pics, links to vids and our A+++ recommendation for you.
Our guide Marcello is a world class mountaineer with impressive experience that made us feel really special- a full pinned UIAGM/IFMGA guide for over 30 years kept us safe and picked perfect climbs for us as we were already rock climbers with some experience. As a local to Cortina he also provided us with great history, trivia and really knew the best spots to climb, hike, and hangout—after he even shared Spritz’ with us! The logistical support from Dolomitemountains was great too—we arrived with all the contact info in case we needed anything and we had detailed breakdown of what to expect each day. The private transports via Taxi Americo from Venice and around the Cortina area was totally professional and punctual. The Refugios were amazing, as was the 5 star hotel they selected for us for our first and last nights. We highly recommend Sarah, Marcello, & the Dolomitemountains team for any trip or adventure you are thinking about to the Dolomite region. 5 star experience all around! If going on a longer ‘Refugio to Refugio’ trip we highly recommend asking for the porter option to send the provided dufflebag ahead to the next lodging so you can enjoy the climbing without the unnecessary weight.
Here are a few memories from our adventure:
…shot from the Rifugio Pomedes where Dolomitemountains put us up one night. Marcello guided us on the Punta Anna Via Ferrata the next day which was an amazing climb and great day.
… shot from the balcony in our 5 star hotel Dolomitemountains hooked us up with our first and last nights in Cortina before we headed up into the mountains to the Refugios. What a way to relax after some hard climbing!
