Marco Bergamo was born in Treviso, Italy, in 1984 and is a man of many passions and accomplishments! Growing up in San Biagio di Callalta, he later moved to Falcade in the province of Belluno, where he currently resides. After attending the University of Architecture in Venice and obtaining a degree in Architectural Science, he found his true calling in the mountains. His deep spiritual connection to the mountains led him to dedicate his life to mountaineering and climbing, taking him to various locations around the world, including the Dolomites, Alps, Himalayas, Patagonia, Cordillera Blanca, and Yosemite. In 2012, Marco became a UIAGM/IFMGA mountain guide, and since 2013, he has been leading clients through a diverse range of activities, including hiking, rock and ice climbing, mountaineering, via ferrata, ski touring, freeride skiing, and ski safari. His love for nature and peaks has driven him to explore the unique opportunities offered by the Dolomites, with their mix of valleys, cultures, and sports. Marco is multilingual, speaking Italian, English, and Spanish, a skill that has enriched his exchanges and experiences across the globe. When asked about his life motto, he humbly states, "I love to follow my dreams and desires, trying to achieve them if I can. My love for the mountains is great, and it always helps me, especially in times of difficulty." Outside of guiding, he finds joy in managing the Scarpa-Gurekian refuge at the foot of Mount Agner and devoting time to his beloved life partner Sharon and their beautiful son Elias. His next chosen travel destination is Africa, fuelled by his fascination with its landscapes and local cultures. Marco Bergamo's journey is an inspiring testament to following one's passions and finding happiness in nature while embracing the love and warmth of family.
