Marta Trucco was born in Genoa in 1966. She grew up there before eventually moving to Corte in the Dolomites, where she currently resides. She attended Genoa University and studied Business Administration and Journalism. Although Marta has felt a connection to the mountains since childhood, it took her some time to realize her true passion. As a child and teenager, she participated in gymnastics and diving competitions. Now, she spends her time hiking and climbing.
Currently, Marta is a certified AMM hiking guide, and she guides various activities such as trekking and hiking in locations like Sardinia, Greece, and Nepal. She enjoys guiding as it allows her to share her passion and provide clients with enriching experiences. Marta loves seeing her clients leave with new experiences and memories. When asked about her favorite hike in the Dolomites, Marta finds it hard to choose just one. Still, she mentions some of her top favorites like Cima Sief, Col di Lana, Valparola Pass, and the view from the terrace of Rifugio Fanes.
Marta believes that people should come to the Dolomites for its unique landscape and abundant outdoor activities, especially during the summer, and that the Dolomites hold many wonderful stories waiting to be discovered. Outside of Italy, Marta has traveled extensively across Europe, Asia, South America, Central America, and Africa. She has also guided clients in Crete and Nepal.
Apart from her language skills in Italian, English, French, and Spanish, Marta adheres to a life motto of not worrying about material possessions as they ultimately hold no value. When she is not guiding, Marta enjoys hiking, climbing, and reading, especially on rainy days! She is super excited to start working in the Dolomites and is looking forward to her upcoming trip to Nepal.
